I contacted her about a year ago but just recently made the decision to dive in. My husband and I were looking for a business that we could build together. This is the one!! The day our candles came in (we ordered the sample pack) my 9 yr old jumped up, got some nice clothes on, picked 3 of his favorite scents and off he went with his basket to make some money. He made a sale in less than 15 minutes! That was the beginning. In less than a week we sold 5 candles and a half dozen votives. We also have a contact set up to start doing fund raisers. Most of this was done without leaving home. When I say without leaving home, I mean 2 candles were sold the first day from friends coming over, one was sold right outside our building and the fund raiser contact was made right outside our apartment. We went to dinner Friday night and sold a candle to one of the waitresses. When I delivered it to her the next night, I sold another one. It's just amazing how easily these candles sell. This was all done with little to no effort. Imagine what will happen when we actually put some effort into it. My husband loves candles and was always interested in doing this business but now that he has seen proof of how well they sell, he is really on fire. We can finally see a glimmer of hope. We have tried 6-7 home businesses and none of them were the right "fit" for our family. Finally, a breath of fresh air!! A business that we can truly do as a family and have fun at the same time! The thing I love most is that with this business (as opposed to the others) you don't have to convince people that they need what you have. They want what we have! I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for my c.d. to come in. I know that our business is going to explode when we get that wonderful marketing tool. Looking forward to GREAT things!! She found me this morning when my husband went out for his usual cup of coffee and her husband was behind my truck at the drive thru and saw my magnetic sign. He went home and she called me right away. Her daughter is into natural and the soy/veg products really sold her. Her mom bought 4 jars while I was there showing the products. I
am so excited about my Scent-Sations business. I joined on April 2,
(this year) and I absolutely love it! I took my sample bag to a salon
where my cousin works on a Thursday afternoon and was scheduled to pick
it up the next day.I was at the salon for only a few hours and then my cousin did the smell and “take orders” demonstration afterwards. We sold over $325 worth of jar and votive candles! I called the order line and purchased a 2nd sample bag to leave with my cousin so she can sell more candles in her “spare time” and I can assure you I will have my own sample bag with me everywhere I go! | Basket Donated... | ||
I
was asked by my local branch manager if I would like to donate to their
auction which is held annually in June. This is a statewide event and
all the employees of the credit union hold an auction to raise money
for the Children's Miracle Network. The auction this year will be held
at Spectacular Events in Bangor, Maine. I am sending along a picture which does not do justice for the basket. All I can say is that when I delivered it today at the bank the employee's were excited and the branch manager stated that it would definitely be a "hot" item at the auction. | Great Advice from Superstars Shep & Jan Kuester | ||
| What
does it take to keep a member on your team permanently. In
other programs I'm sure you've seen people quit at all levels. Quiting
didn't hurt because they consistently had to perform or invest money to
get that check, and in many cases it took a lot of money to get to the
break even point. Not so with Scent-Sations. You sponsor someone that is not a builder; they simply want the products at wholesale. In most companies there is a high turnover of this type of member. They are excited for a couple months, their interests change, and they cut expenses - your program. We have a two-fold purpose in retaining this member. (a) Their volume makes a difference for our GV. (b) This person may introduce a builder to the program.
I sponsor Mary, who is this program member (that's what I call this type
of person). I love'em to death! But this is not the type of person I'm
really looking for - I'm looking for builders! How do I retain Mary at
minimal investment of time while still searching for builders?Mary's goal is to get the COTM for free. That's all she wants, and that's what I'm going to help her do. I help her to sign up 6 people - that's $24 in commission for Mary. For the sake of this example, all 6 are just like Mary. We help Mary help those 6 sponsor collectively 12 new members. That's $24 in commission for Mary, or $48 total, which makes her COTM free. She's elated! Now I counsel her that those 6 people she sponsored want the COTM free too, so if she wants to keep getting that COTM free it's in her best interest to help those 6 get 6 new members each, then show them how to work with those 6 to perpetuate what she did. After all, those people joined with the intent of finding a way to get their COTM free, just like Mary. It works. Mary now can relax with her COTM free each month. Will she brag about this to friends and family? Most likely? Will she eventually talk about this to a builder? Perhaps, and THAT'S the person we're looking for. We gave Mary an incentive she REALLY wanted - free product, and a way to reach her goal. She would not even consider sponsoring under any other scenario - but she wanted a free COTM, and this is the only way to get it, so she sponsors because that's what she needed to do to reach her goal. The people she sponsored, if not builders, wanted the same thing, so had an incentive to sponsor when they didn't join with that intention. Out of this group a builder or two may surface, but it's not as guarantee. If the probability of builders coming out of Mary's group is a low probability, and you are really looking for builders, why sponsor or work with Mary in the first place? Sales volume and group stability! If a member is getting $48 in commissions each month, and their COTM is $47 after S & H, will they ever quit? NO! NEVER! The Mary's on your team need little assistance, will never quit, and will bring you thousands of dollars in commissions, which you will then use to finance your advertising, marketing, etc, in your search for builders. Everyone wins. However, never stop talking to Mary or those on her part of your team. A member who today only wants free product may have an event in their life that totally changes their priorities (a baby, divorce, loss of employment, marriage, buy a house, etc). Now that member wants to be a Director and $10,000 a month - a radical change of priorities, isn't it? Mary is now the builder you were looking for all along! Because you helped her in the beginning, and always included her in your invitations to training, seminars, conference calls, and other contact actions, she looks to you as a friend truly interested in her success, even if it was just to get free products. | Don't wait until you are downsized to begin building your Scent-Sations business. Unfortunately, too many people wait until their back is up against the wall to really put the pedal down and build the business. They wait until they are downsized, lose their retirement, suffer an injury or illness, or something that sets them back to begin securing their future THEMSELVES! Do whatever you can TODAY to take consistent action steps in your business. Over 11 years ago, my husband and I began a networking business for a couple of reasons -
We really didn't have much money to put into a business. We had a new baby; my husband was 2 years into his current employer's seniority list (which meant a few years of scraping by) and I had left my job to be home with our son. But, we did not see that we had any other option than to be resourceful and get a business started. We researched and made a plan. We had a garage sale to earn the money for the "big starter kit" with that company and we rolled up our sleeves. Today, we have watched his two best friends have their airline retirement pensions all but eliminated. We are not optimistic that his airline will keep his intact. We have watched another good friend have his flying certificate pulled by the FAA due to medical reasons. Other friends have been downsized, capsized and had their worlds turned upside down. I can not tell you how grateful I am that we began this journey over 11 years ago. Every day, I appreciate the efforts we put in and still do. And, I have a mission to empower and inspire others to take action NOW. The other day, we were talking about the awful state of the airline industry and we talked about how good it felt to have an "oh well" attitude about the potential loss of his retirement. We have planned, strategized and worked diligently toward being self sufficient. We were (and are) willing to give up those things that aren't necessary in order to make the time to build the business. One will never find the time. One must always make the time. Hi! My name is Kari Andersen and I’ve been with Scent-sations for 7 months.
Finding this dynamic company, and connecting with its wonderful people,
has been an incredible experience and one of the best things to happen
to me in my life.I taught middle school in the public school system in Oregon for 12 years right out of college. I got married and had three kids and continued to work the entire time! It wasn't easy to stand in front of a class of 6th graders and teach while dealing with morning sickness or wondering how my kids were doing with Dad at home. Luckily for us, my husband was able to be home with the kids while I worked. But my heart wasn't into it. I WANTED TO BE HOME WITH MY KIDS! The window of time is so short and I knew I would never get this time back. I eventually quit my job and our family moved to Southern California. My husband got a great job but it required that he work a lot of hours. Because we were in a new city where I didn't know anyone and I was a stay-at-home mom for the first time, I needed something to do where I could earn money, have fun and meet people all at the same time. Everyone said I should get a job but I was not willing to get a job outside the home. I brainstormed so many options but none of them fit ME! I knew that the Internet was where the money was but didn't know how to tap that amazing resource. I really love candles so I went searching for a candle company that offered candles that smelled great, burned without all the black mess and had a huge income potential. I found that company and I couldn't stop reading about it and I spent days going over my soon-to-be sponsor’s website. I was hooked! I signed up for her newsletter and entered her candle drawing.
